Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL)
Female pattern hair loss (FPHL) is a broad term for the decrease in central scalp hair density that occurs in many female post puberty. FPHL affects > 50% of women over the age of 50 years and while the hair loss may seem trivial to the observer, it is often emotionally devastating for the affected women. Ludwig in 1977 described the progressive centrifugal hair loss with preservation of the frontal hair line to which he assigned three pictorial gradations of severity. Olsen commented on the frequent Christmas tree pattern of FPHL with frontal accentuation.
Male pattern Hair Loss (MPHL)
Male pattern Hair Loss is also commonly known as Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA). It is characterized by hair follicles that gradually decrease in size and lead to baldness over time.
Telogen Effluvium
Telogen Effluvium is also known as non-scarring alopecia. Major Traumas such as childbirth, major surgery, poisoning, and severe stress may cause this hair loss condition
